Taking the Gospel to the City!

Last Tuesday was the launch of Community Life Tuesdays, an outreach ministry of Calvary Bible Church.

We bring food, fellowship, music, preaching, and personal evangelism straight to dowtown Kalamazoo. Instead of trying to bring the people into the church to hear the gospel we are bringing the gospel to the people. Over 100 people heard the gospel last Tuesday. Shawano Cleary, a freelance photographer for Kalamazoo Gazette who was racing around taking snapshots for the paper, got behind the mic and told his story of how God transformed his life. Pastor Seth preached from Romans 1, calling people to turn from their sin and receive forgiveness through Christ. Lighting and Sound was there to make sure the music hit every square inch of the park and Dan Smith coordinated the sound system.

Brock Brockway's band ripped it up on stage and even got a couple people dancing. Josh A. Breese, an attender of Calvary Bible Church and a local police officer for Kalamazoo was there to aid security and is busting with excitement about the ministry opportunity this provides him to use his role to serve others. Dennis, an outreach veteran, sat in the back, thoughtfully puffing on his cigar and later gave vital feedback on the event and how to improve.

Pray for this ministry. Pray for the families, children, adults, and homeless who hear the gospel. Pray that God's Word will go forth, convicting hearts of sin and their desperate need for God's grace. Pray that believers will boldly step up and reach the lost through loving service and bold proclamation.
